‘Titans of Space’ for Oculus is a first-person flight through the solar system, starting with Earth. It’s absolutely awe-inspiring.
So I just had the Oculus on my head for about half an hour, and I likely looked like a gaping idiot the entire time. Mouth was hanging open in absolute awe. This—THIS thing is what the Oculus was made for. It’s quite literally a flight through the solar system, zooming by each planet and its moons in turn, in great detail.
There’s just no way to do this justice in a blog post. You literally get to fly through the solar system, with epic music following you, and look around in 360º to see the relative sizes (though not, at first at least, accurate distances) of the other planets—and, beyond them, a very detailed Milky Way galaxy and even further galaxies.
After going through the entire solar system and out to the far planets, you get to zoom out and see the whole thing, before—surprise!—going even further to see the relative size of gigantic stars that could eclipse our entire system. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude.
I might have to take it easy with this Oculus thing. This could get… addictive.
The developers of Titans of Space are taking donations to develop further parts of the galaxy. Holy f***, worth it.
